INTRODUCING JAVA THE PANGOLIN!

AXOL - SEPTEMBER 25, 2018

This is Java the Pangolin. He is the newest addition to the Axol & Friends family! He's a plushie made of recycled materials and designed in the image of his real life counterpart, the pangolin. Pangolins are a rare endangered species that are sadly trafficked in large quantities

PANGOLIN FACTS
  • Pangolins are the only mammals with scales!
  • The scales are made of keratin, which is what human finger nails are made of.
  • The world 'pangolin' comes from the Malay word 'peggulung', which means 'one that rolls up'. When it is threatened a pangolin will curl itself into a tight ball which is impenetrable to predators!
  • Not even lions can harm a pangolin when it is in its ball.
  • There are 8 species of Pangolins. Four are native to Asia and four are native to Africa

Java is Axol's best friend. They met in Mexico city and have gone on many adventures together since then. Like Axol, Java will be on sale soon and a portion of every purchase will go to youth empowerment programs, just like Axol.
